Off topic - do you have a link to a pdf of the user manual, this is by far the best resource i have found for the bg45. i love my little laptop to bits but its starting to haul ass now so upgrading is needed. this is the definitive place ive found for advice.

cheers.

Hi Matt,

Do you know of any battery life benefits with SSD?

I currently get at best 2 hours from the standard battery, maybe an extra ten minutes with some tweaking.

No worries Peter, happy to help.

Its easy to create the restore DVD's and should be in your manual how to do it. Make sure you back up your user data!

Absolutely brilliant! Just what I needed, should be a doddle really, I'm thinking maybe a 320Gb HDD they're going for only around £50 so not too bad. Just one last question, could I ask how you went about copying the recovery sector containing Vista to an external and then back, because as you know without a disc drive its a bit more tricky.

Thanks again for your helpQ
